Member of Technical Staff - Catalysis

Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a Member of the Technical Staff in the area of catalysis at its Corporate Strategic Research (CSR) laboratory located in Clinton, New Jersey.

Job Role Responsibilities

The position requires a broad background in the synthesis, characterization and evaluation of catalytic materials with core expertise in the build-up of structure-property correlations.  The successful candidate should be proficient in performing reactive and physical characterization of catalytic materials and should demonstrate excellent practical skills when planning and executing research activities. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and demonstrating scientific leadership, strong and productive collaborations both internally and with outside research organizations, and be willing to contribute to internal and external scientific publications. 

Job Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or related fields is required. 

  • Excellent communication skills are essential, as collaboration with other science areas, such as materials science, advanced characterization, and process engineering is critical for success. 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Post-doctoral research experience is preferred. 

  • Experience in materials synthesis, kinetics, state-of-the-art ex-situ and in-situ characterizations, and/or electrocatalysis is advantageous.

CSR is located in scenic western New Jersey, about an hour west of New York City and 45 minutes northwest of Princeton.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
