Life Cycle Modeling & LCA Specialist




Job Description


ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a Life Cycle Modeling & LCA  Specialist in its Process Technology Department located in Annandale, NJ.



Primary Job Functions


We are seeking a candidate in life cycle modeling and analysis to join a team executing programs aimed at understanding, modeling, and quantifying energy and petrochemical technologies in terms of emissions, energy contributions, and impacts.  In addition, this position requires knowledge of process systems including the ability to work independently, interpret and distill complex analyses into easily understood results.



Job Requirements


A PhD in chemical engineering or a related engineering field is required. The successful candidate must have a strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence in estimating flows and emissions related to energy and petrochemical production and its use.  Familiarity with process design is also required. 
The successful candidate should be willing to explore new areas and possess excellent analytical and leadership skills, along with outstanding communication skills, to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary research and engineering teams.



Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


Previous experience with life cycle assessment is required.  Experience with process modeling platforms such as Aspen Plus or Pro/II, mathematical programming software such as GAMS or AIMMS, and LCA tools such as GREET, PRELIM or SimaPro is preferred. Additional experience in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, energy systems, or optimization is also desirable.


 


ExxonMobil's Process Technology Department (PTD) is the center for process technology development for the corporation with capabilities focusing on materials, engineering fundamentals, modeling, and simulation.  PTD is located in western New Jersey, about an hour west of New York City and an hour north of Philadelphia.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
