Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI), located in Clinton, New Jersey, is accepting applications for a biostatistics position in the Occupational and Public Health Division.  EMBSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exxon Mobil Corporation, and has over 100 human health, environmental, and product stewardship experts positioned globally to provide integrated support to ExxonMobil businesses.

Job Description

EMBSI biostatisticians work collaboratively with health and environmental research teams to manage, analyze, and interpret data from diverse sources to evaluate risks associated with ExxonMobil products and operations.  More than just providing expertise, biostatisticians are encouraged to get involved proactively and take initiative to recommend analytical approaches and ensure statistical integrity.  Typical activities include design of analytical protocols, data management and analysis, evaluation of new statistical techniques and software, generation of data visualizations, interpretation of statistical information for both experts and non-experts, communication of health and environmental research including presentation at technical conferences and publication in peer reviewed research, interaction with international governmental/regulatory agencies, and participation in professional organizations and trade associations. Additionally, EMBSI supports continuous learning to refresh knowledge of new statistical methods and identify novel applications.

Job Requirements

The prospective candidate should have broad training in biostatistics and a graduate degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field. A strong working knowledge in data management, analysis, visualization, and interpretation is required, including experience combining multiple complex data sets for analysis. Programming experience with SAS, R, and/or Stata is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Candidates must be able to work independently and interact well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and scientific disciplines to achieve worldwide business objectives and to ensure compliance with corporate policies and international health and environmental regulations. 
This position requires extensive consultation and technical support to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide and will require some domestic and international travel.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate also would have experience with a variety of statistical approaches ranging from descriptive statistics and basic inferential tests to meta-analyses and advanced statistical procedures such as logistic regression, splines, and Cox proportional hazards analysis. In addition, experience in risk assessment (e.g. benchmark dose analysis), toxicology, ecotoxicology, epidemiology, and/or exposure science is an advantage.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
