Mass Spectrometry Researcher

Job Role Summary

  • Champion mass spectrometry technology and its advanced applications for R&D and business
  • Solve problems in petroleum industry using mass spectrometry and other characterization techniques (e. g., NMR, optical spectroscopy, gas and liquid chromatography, elemental analysis)
  • Develop analytical methods or characterization protocols in mass spectrometry and related characterization fields

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership and problem solving in petroleum and hydrocarbon products using ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry and other analytical approaches (e. g., NMR, optical spectroscopy, gas and liquid chromatography, elemental analysis, etc.)
  • Proficiency with fundamental understanding and operation of different mass spectrometers, including Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR), time-of-flight, and quadrupole, etc. with different ionization methods, such as Electrospray Ionization, Field Ionization/Field Desorption, Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization, Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization, etc.
  • Analytical method development, including LC-MS and GC-MS
  • Working in cross-functional teams, interacting with R&D and business partners across ExxonMobil.
  • Familiarity with analysis of biological materials, such as algae, cellulose, and their conversion products is a plus

Job Requirements

  • Ph. D. in Analytical Chemistry or related field and experience in mass spectrometry
  • Proficiency in high resolution data analysis and mass spectrometry data interpretation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
